300g of Darling Downs Short Rib Meat
half an onion
2 stalks of chives
a bowl of rice
Soy Sauce 5TS
Water 2TS
Mirin 3TS
Sugar 2 TS
a pinch of salt
Pepper
Olive oil 2TS
Begin by massaging the ribs with a generous drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Allow the ribs to marinate for 30 minutes to absorb all the delicious seasonings.
Slice half an onion and soak it in water to make it more tender. While the onion is soaking, chop the green onions into small pieces to add a pop of color to your dish.
In a separate bowl, mix together soy sauce (5 tablespoons), water (2 tablespoons), mirin (3 tablespoons), and sugar (2 tablespoons) until well combined. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to boil.
Next, it's time to grill the ribs! Heat a high-heat pan and place the seasoned rib patties in it. Cook until the front and back are golden brown, giving the ribs a delightful crunch.
Serve the ribs over a bed of warm rice, topped with the drained onion and a drizzle of the sauce. Finally, sprinkle the chopped green onions on top for a touch of freshness and flavor.
